Construction Update
Work Completed for Week 6: July 21 - July 26
The contractor completed placement of new concrete driveway aprons, sidewalks across driveway aprons, and intersection valley gutters along the west side of Van Buren Street.
The contractor placed most of the new curb and gutter along the east side of Van Buren Street, but was unable to complete it due to equipment difficulties.
Work Anticipated for Week 7: July 28 - August 1
The contractor will construct remaining curb and gutter on all areas of Van Buren Street.
The contractor will construct driveway aprons and sidewalks at driveway crossings along the east side of Van Buren Street.
The contractor will construct all remaining curb ramps on Van Buren Street.
Traffic will not be allowed on new concrete until adequate strength is obtained.
Upcoming Work
After completion of concrete work, the contractor will complete restoration of lawn areas.
The City of Stoughton will pulverize the remaining asphalt pavement on Wednesday July 30th. The contractor will then grade, roll, and prepare the pulverized material for paving.
The contractor tentatively plans to begin curb and gutter replacement on Eisenhower Road and Roosevelt Street in mid-August.
Traffic Control
Van Buren Street is closed to through traffic, but open to local traffic.
The west sides of the intersections of Van Buren Street and Eisenhower Road, Van Buren Street and Keenan Lane, and Van Buren Street and Hyland Drive are closed while the new concrete valley gutters reach strength. Access is available via Lincoln Avenue. EMS has been notified of the closures.
